MABO is pleased to announce the details of its main Senior Officials Clinics for the upcoming season. 

2024-25 MABO Senior Clinics 

Please note that all MABO clinics will be capped at 80 participants, so register now before they fill up. 


All clinic check-ins begin at 8:30 am, and clinics begin at 9:00 am unless noted.

  • Virtual Clinic Notes:  We are also pleased to announce that we will offer a Virtual Senior clinic that will be available to you after videotaping.  The virtual clinic option is NOT available to 1st to 3rd-year officials. If you wish to attend the virtual clinic, you must submit a request to attend the virtual clinic to clinics@maboref.com, justifying why you can not attend an in-person clinic, and your submission will be up for approval. A representative from MABO will reach out after reviewing your application.  

    • There will be a $15.00 charge to attend the virtual clinic (this is to offset the costs of videotaping the session).  We are limiting the participating in a virtual clinic to the first 25 requests.  You will get invoiced for the $15.00 once your application is approved.

    • Please note that if you have any interest in doing Provincials, we recommend that you attend an in-person clinic.

    • Please note that the virtual clinic is targeted for officials that are not able to attend a clinic in Winnipeg, Steinbach or Brandon, due to distance required to travel.  If you live in one of these areas, or close proximity to, you will be expected to attend the clinic at that location, in person.


What to bring to all MABO Clinics

  • FIBA Rulebook downloaded from the MABO site

  • Whistle, referee shirt, black shorts or pants, black runners

  • Optional bag lunch, there are few places to eat in the neighbourhood

Please note that payment must be submitted and received before the clinic you plan to attend.

Payment will not be accepted in person at any clinic or at the Basketball Manitoba office.  If you need to arrange an alternate payment to the online option, please contact the MABO Treasurer, Stan Majowski, at skmajowski@shaw.ca.

2024-25 Membership & Clinic Notes

All new and returning MABO members are required to register or renew their memberships with this website and pay their annual dues as listed below... (A $10 late fee is added to all membership fees received on or after November 1st of each year)

MEMBERSHIP & CLINIC FEES - ALL REGIONS 

  • The preferred payment option is eTransfer.  Please help MABO reduce our service fee costs by utilizing eTransfer rather than PayPal.

FIRST TIME MABO REGISTRANT

  • To assist our new Senior officials transitioning from the JODP, the registration for your first MABO year will only be $100.00 if paying by eTransfer or $105.00 if paying via PayPal.  This is only for first time Senior officials, who have never registered with MABO in the past.

  • Regular Fee Rate: $145.00 following November 1, 2024

  • First Time MABO Registrant, $100.00

CREDIT CARD / PAYPAL OPTION

  • Regular Fee Rate: $150.00 following November 1, 2024

  • First Time MABO Registrant, $105.00

CHEQUE OPTION

  • Contact MABO Treasurer Stan Majowski (at skmajowski@shaw.ca) to arrange to pay by Cheque.  This year, there is no additional surcharge to pay by Cheque.

PAYMENT: We encourage all members to pay their membership fees by eTransfer from your financial institution.  Please send your payment to info@maboref.com  

If you desire to pay via credit card, please use PayPal.  You do not need a PayPal account to process the payment, as you can use a major credit card when prompted.

Cash will not be accepted.

NO PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE BASKETBALL MANITOBA OFFICE, AND NO PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT ANY OF THE CLINICS. 


  • ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP FEES are $70.00.  This is primarily for individuals that are not officiating, however partake in MABO.  This fee will include membership in Basketball Manitoba and CBOC.   You can purchase your Associate Membership Fee directly by utilizing eTransfer to info@maboref.com.  If you would like to pursue other payment options, please contact MABO Treasurer Stan Majowski at skmajowski@shaw.ca about payment options.

  • JUNIOR OFFICIALS: If you are a Junior Official (JODP), you must contact your MABO assignor to receive a recommendation to attend a Senior MABO clinic.  

  • WHAT TO BRING:  Registrants need to bring, print or have available on a tablet or laptop the current FIBA rulebook if they have one to the clinic.  Please bring a whistle, a referee shirt, black shorts or pants, and black runners.  Please note that no food will be provided at the clinics, so please bring an optional bag lunch.

  • NEW TO MANITOBA?  People new to Manitoba must contact MABO Provincial Supervisor before selecting one of the clinic options. 

  • CLINIC CHANGES: If you need to change the clinic date you originally signed up for, please email Tiara Licsi at Basketball Manitoba - tiara@basketballmanitoba.ca with the new clinic date you wish to move to.
