Manitoba Wheelchair Basketball has announced the launch of a new recreational program starting this fall.
Program Details:
Frequency: Weekly
Location: Sport Manitoba Courts
Start Date: Beginning of October
Schedule: Every Tuesday night through mid-December, resuming mid-January through April
The program seeks individuals interested in expanding their referee knowledge by officiating these games. If enough interest is shown, a clinic will be held to provide the necessary training.
The goal of the 'Rec League' is to increase participation in wheelchair basketball, not just from athletes but also from coaches, officials, and volunteers. It aims to have at least four teams of five players each. Participants can register as individuals or groups if they want to be on the same team.
