MABO and Basketball Manitoba are saddened to share the news on the passing of long time basketball official Arsen Aban. Arsen was an active member of MABO as a referee for many years. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Aban family. Rest in Peace Arsen.

Singer, musician, chess player, basketball referee, maker of smiles, polyglot, history buff, teller of tales, eyebrow raiser, tie adjuster, sock model, comedian, man amongst men, and friend to all, left us to rejoin the Big Mariachi in the Sky on Saturday, August 29, 2015. At all times in his life, the love of music was a constant source of inspiration. He marched to the beat of his own drum. And the tune that played was love, kindness, and generosity. You will be dearly missed. We are sure you and Teta are having coffee now, and at least a few cigarettes. We sincerely thank all who cared for him during his struggles. A celebration of Arsen's life will be held at the Norwood Hotel, 112 Marion St. on Tuesday, September 8 at 6:00 p.m. Vaya con Dios Rest in Peace.
