Q. Control must be established in the front court. A team is in control in the front court when a player is touching his front court with both feet while holding, catching or dribbling the ball in his front court. Please explain.
A. In order for back over centre to be called, a team must have controlled the ball in the frontcourt (by holding, dribbling or catching the ball while both feet are in the frontcourt). Once this is established, if that team is the last to touch the ball in the front court and the 1st to touch the ball in the back court, then we have a back over centre violation.
